Papers, 1875-1982, consisting of clippings, correspondence, printed materials, notes, a map, and a dissertation. This collection relates to Caver's research on the black community in the Montgomery area and includes newspaper clippings from the Montgomery Advertiser, Alabama Journal, Atlanta Constitution, Birmingham News and Demopolis Times, all concerning prominent blacks in Alabama. Also included are numerous printed materials - pamphlets on black history, programs from events at Alabama State and Tuskegee Institute, and other material. The collection also contains law cases and a wide variety of essays and papers on black history, including A. P. Rogers, "Patterns of Racial Residential Segregation in Montgomery, Ala." There is also a 1978 map of Madison Co., Ala.
